Professor Suslov graduated from the Bauman Technical Institute as its top-ranking student and went on to complete his doctorate on the use of plasma engines on spacecraft. He continued his research in thermal and molecular physics at the Institute of Human Morphology, the Academy of Science and several leading hospitals. He gained his professorship in recognition for his work on the interaction between plasma energy sources and live biological tissues.

This research led to the development of technology used in plasma surgery and to a series of patented inventions that are now used in the PlasmaJet which miniaturized a system to deliver plasma in surgery. Professor Suslov co-founded Plasma Surgical in Sweden and helped establish the current Company Headquarters in the United States in 2010. He remains active in product development as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.
