Dr. Brian Tippett joined Plasma Surgical in 2014. An engineer and physician by training, Dr. Tippett is a seasoned surgical device executive with experience spanning business development, clinical development, medical affairs, clinical training and marketing. Prior to joining Plasma Surgical, and over the span of 20 years in the surgical device industry, he led successful product development and commercialization initiatives for several disruptive technologies at industry leaders including Allergan, Kinetic Concepts, and Intuitive Surgical.
As President and Chief Executive Officer he led the global reorganization of Plasma Surgical and its subsidiaries. Building on foundational technology, he renewed corporate focus and resources toward the development of the next generation thermal plasma technology, expanding utilization globally, and improving the lives of patients through the advancement of surgical tools for complex open and videoscopic procedures.
Dr. Tippett earned his Medical Degree from the University of Maryland and completed Internship and Residency training in Baltimore, MD at Union Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital, respectively. In addition, he completed both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in soft tissue biomechanics prior to attending medical school.
